50/50 Friday - Favorite/Least Favorite Read in May

50/50 Friday is hosted here on this blog and over at Blue Eye Books

What is 50/50 Friday?
Everyone has a favorite and then we also have something we dislike. Like a coin, there are two sides to every question. Example: best sequel you've read/worst sequel you've read. So that's what 50/50 Friday is all about. We will have a new topic every Friday (something bookish of course!). If you have have ideas for this meme don't be scared to let us know!

Favorite/Least Favorite Read in May

May had been one heck of a ride for me. I wish I could just erase this month from my mind. Here I thought I'd gotten this great job and the boss ends up getting rid of me because my car isn't a truck and wasn't big enough for her even though she had someone else with my car working for her! Some people just really blow my mind... I just hope I find another job soon.

Anyway, reading wise, I had a pretty good month. Most everything I read I enjoyed. So let's jump into this topic shall we?

Kael, Warrior King of the Vampires, loathes the Night of the Proffering. He needs the blood of either his mate or a human virgin to maintain his strength, but hasn't enjoyed the ritual since he lost his mate centuries ago. Kael doesn't want a new companion, yet his resolve is tested when he lays eyes on his new offering, Shayla McKinnon. He is drawn to Shayla's beauty and poise...and the submission she offers. She is eager to give him anything he wishes, including her innocence, to please him. Will Kael give in to their overwhelming desire—even if it means risking Shayla's life?

Damianos of Akielos has returned.

His identity now revealed, Damen must face his master Prince Laurent as Damianos of Akielos, the man Laurent has sworn to kill.

On the brink of a momentous battle, the future of both their countries hangs in the balance. In the south, Kastor’s forces are massing. In the north, the Regent’s armies are mobilising for war. Damen’s only hope of reclaiming his throne is to fight together with Laurent against their usurpers.

Forced into an uneasy alliance the two princes journey deep into Akielos, where they face their most dangerous opposition yet. But even if the fragile trust they have built survives the revelation of Damen’s identity—can it stand against the Regent's final, deadly play for the throne?

  1. Your ex-boss sounds so awful. I just don't understand some people... The people I'm working for this summer aren't the greatest (I was able to leave last summer on a relatively peaceful note through gritted teeth but coming back will be interesting) so I'm hoping to get through the summer without any dramatics. In any case, I hope your job search goes well and you find something much, much better (they didn't deserve you anyway!).

Kings Rising sounds really good! I haven't had a chance to read much fantasy with lgbt reps so it's definitely going on my TBR!
