50/50 Friday - First/Last Vampire Book You've Read

50/50 Friday is a weekly meme hosted by me and the wonderful Laura from Blue Eye Books.

What is 50/50 Friday?
Everyone has a favorite and then we also have something we dislike. Like a coin, there are two sides to every question. Example: best sequel you've read/worst sequel you've read. So that's what 50/50 Friday is all about. We will have a new topic every Friday (something bookish of course!). If you have have ideas for this meme don't be scared to let us know!

Topic for the Week
First/Last ___ Book You've Read (specific genre, etc)

No surprise here, I've chosen vampire books! Because I am in love with vampires. So let's just get into this because I want to talk about these books.

First Vampire Book I Ever Read

But I read it in this neat little bind-up that I still have today.

I also don't remember how I got it but I know it was early summer and I'd just recently finished school for the year. I was 15 years old and it was the very first vampire I ever read. It was perfect and wonderful and I have never looked back.

Last Vampire Book I've Read

I actually just finished rereading this one not long ago. I've been trying to get back to my roots and reading more paranormal. I've been following the trends lately and I just miss the genre that got me into reading. So I started with an old guilty pleasure.

Topic for Next Week
Best/Worst Book Read in February

  1. I really wanted to like TVD books, but I think I'm more of a fan of the show...

    1. Well, I can't say I blame you! The show is/was so good! Well I need to be honest, I only watched the first 5 seasons... but I loved them lol

  2. Great share. I really enjoyed both of these. I wish I could remember my first vampire book but it was ages ago. This is a great weekly. Thanks for hosting!!! Have a great week and happy reading.

    1. Thank you for stopping by. They are both good for sure! I hope you have a great weekend too!

  3. Like Lauren, I have to confess I liked the television show better of the Vampire Diaries. I still haven't managed to get through all the series, but I've seen most of them. It's such a fun show.

Vampire Kisses looks good! I don't read as many vampire focused books as I used to, but I still enjoy them now and then. :-)

    Have a great weekend, Carrie!

    1. The TV show just goes into so much more details with the characters and plot that it's hard not to like it more! I'm in the same boat, I'm not seen the last few seasons... I hope to change that soon.

It's a cute and fun read. Most people don't these days, the vampire trend is over so... people have moved on to fantasy and such. Nothing wrong with that.

      I hope you're having a great weekend!

  4. I still haven't read (or watched!) The Vampire Diaries and it's been eating at me ever since I put the show on my Netflix watchlist! I read The Vampire Academy series when I first started out and loved it (and I've loved a lot of vampire books since then) but for whatever reason, I just haven't read Vampire Diaries yet!

    1. GASP! You've not even seen any of the show? I can't even... we have to stop being friends now. I'm joking lol. I hope you get the time to watch some of it soon and if/when you do, I hope you like it! If you read any of the novels... I'd stop after the fourth one, it went to ghost writer after that and just wasn't as good imo.

  5. I was going to do this 50/50 friday but my memory is so bad I'd definitely screw up on what was the first book I read in whatever genre! As for vampire books, I love them so much! I hope to see more vampire books published in the future....maybe its just that I haven't come across them but I feel like authors are moving away from vampires! Shifters and high fantasy seem to be more popular lately. I hope that vampires become fashionable again!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment! I love each and every one! Your comments make my day!
