By Your Side & On The Fence - Book Reviews

When Autumn Collins finds herself accidentally locked in the library for an entire weekend, she doesn’t think things could get any worse. But that’s before she realizes that Dax Miller is locked in with her. Autumn doesn’t know much about Dax except that he’s trouble. Between the rumors about the fight he was in (and that brief stint in juvie that followed it) and his reputation as a loner, he’s not exactly the ideal person to be stuck with. Still, she just keeps reminding herself that it is only a matter of time before Jeff, her almost-boyfriend, realizes he left her in the library and comes to rescue her.

Only he doesn’t come. No one does.

Instead it becomes clear that Autumn is going to have to spend the next couple of days living off vending-machine food and making conversation with a boy who clearly wants nothing to do with her. Except there is more to Dax than meets the eye. As he and Autumn first grudgingly, and then not so grudgingly, open up to each other, Autumn is struck by their surprising connection. But can their feelings for each other survive once the weekend is over and Autumn’s old life, and old love interest, threaten to pull her from Dax’s side?

Book Breakdown

One single setting. I read this book in one single setting. Yes, I am addicted to Kasie West books. Nope, I do not care nor do I want help. I just want more and more of her books. I think I'm actually close to reading them all, I just need her first two books and I'll be done. Which really makes me so freaking sad. I need more.

This one follows Autumn who suffers from anxiety disorder while she is trapped in the library over the weekend. Though it doesn't turn out as she thought, she gets locked in with the school's loner boy that everyone thinks is a bad boy. They slowly form a bond during their time together but what happens when they are free? Will they pretend nothing happened between them?

This has to be one of my favorites from Kasie West, for sure. I loved it so much I stayed up later than I should've and I suffered for it the next day at work but I just could not put the book down. The writing is like all her other books, fun and fast paced. It's great. If you like Kasie West, you'll love this one, if you've not read any of her novels yet, go for this one first! It's just sooooooo good!

For sixteen-year-old Charlotte Reynolds, aka Charlie, being raised by a single dad and three older brothers has its perks. She can outrun, outscore, and outwit every boy she knows—including her longtime neighbor and honorary fourth brother, Braden. But when it comes to being a girl, Charlie doesn't know the first thing about anything. So when she starts working at chichi boutique to pay off a speeding ticket, she finds herself in a strange new world of makeup, lacy skirts, and BeDazzlers. Even stranger, she's spending time with a boy who has never seen her tear it up in a pickup game. To cope with the stress of faking her way through this new reality, Charlie seeks late-night refuge in her backyard, talking out her problems with Braden by the fence that separates them. But their Fence Chats can't solve Charlie's biggest problem: she's falling for Braden. Hard. She knows what it means to go for the win, but if spilling her secret means losing him for good, the stakes just got too high.

Book Breakdown

I read this book in less then 2 hours. I really do have a problem but I don't care. I don't want help, I just want to enjoy Kasie West books in peace and devour them whole. This one is as good as the rest though I could've used a little more cute flirting though. This one is sweet, fun and has some great side characters. The side characters in this one are my favorite side characters. I would love to read a book about Gage. He's such a fun goofball and I would just love that book forever and a day.

This one follows Charlie, a tomboy and she's just as good as the boys. She doesn't know a thing about girly stuff but when she gets a ticket and her father tells her to get a job.... things change and she's now in this world that she knows nothing about. It's so cool to see how she grows through her life with a bunch of guys after her mother's death. I love how strong she is.

This has some great character development and is just as cute as the rest. This one is a little darker towards the end as the deal with the mother's death but it's still a cute read. Fully recommend.
